Mr Sango Ntsaluba is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa). After qualifying he went on to specialise in Tax Law. On completion of his training period for chartered accountancy, he worked in finance and Internal auditing in the motor industry. He practised in an international firm as a senior tax consultant. He then moved over to public practice and became a senior partner in a firm of accountants and auditors. In 1997 he moved to Transnet as General Manager in Group Finance. In December 1998 he became an Executive Director: Restructuring also responsible for various operations within Transnet, which include telecommunications, IT and road freight businesses.

Whilst at Transnet, he was seconded for six months in 1998, at the request of the then Minister of Public Enterprises, to assist in the setting up the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) targeting previously disadvantaged persons. With effect from 1 April 2001 he was appointed as the Executive Director responsible for the rail activities in Transnet.

He has been a prominent Board member of the National Electricity Regulator since 2001 and has proven himself to be a visionary, insightful, diligent, and conscientious. With his fine financial and strategic mind, he has demonstrated an excellent grasp of the issues facing the electricity industry and has contributed immensely in assisting the NER to regulate the industry effectively and efficiently.

Mr Ntsaluba served as a member of the following Committees of the National Electricity Regulator (NER): Finance Committee - was appointed as its Committee Chairperson (2001 - 2005); Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee until the end of 2003 financial year; Member of the Licensing, Compliance and Customer Services Committee (2003 - 2005); Member of the Human Resource Committee (2005); and Member of the Ad Hoc Committee on the establishment of National Energy Regulator (NERSA) (2004 - 2005).

Mr Ntsaluba is a distinguished Chartered Accountant and also an astute businessman at the helm of Amabubesi Investments Pty Ltd as Chief Executive Officer.

In October 2005, he was appointed by the Minister of Minerals and Energy as part-time Regulator Member of the National Energy Regulator (NERSA).
